These terms apply when you use QR Barcode Scanner & Maker.

Acceptance of terms

QR Barcode Scanner & Maker is provided by Media Ventum. By downloading, installing, accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the app. Your use may also be subject to the terms of the application store or device platform through which the app is made available.

About QR Barcode Scanner & Maker

QR Barcode Scanner & Maker is a QR code and barcode utility that lets you create, customize, scan, save, copy and share codes. Features include generation for URLs, text, Wi-Fi, email, SMS, phone numbers, WhatsApp, social links, user-entered location content, vCard, events, business links, Google Forms and supported barcode formats, plus QR customization (patterns, eye styles, colours, gradients and custom logos).

You may use the app locally without an account. Creating an account, signing in and synchronizing saved codes is optional.

Licence to use the app

Subject to these Terms, Media Ventum grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use QR Barcode Scanner & Maker for lawful personal or business purposes. This licence does not transfer ownership of the app, its software, branding, design or other intellectual property to you.

Optional accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure, for verifying the email address you register, and for activity that occurs through your account. Use the same email address if you later request account deletion.

Cloud sync is optional and is not a guaranteed backup. Network issues, background-task limits, or third-party service availability can delay or prevent synchronization. Keep local copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the information you enter into QR codes and barcodes, the codes you create, and how you use, publish, distribute or share them. You must comply with applicable laws, third-party rights and contractual obligations. Verify important codes before printing, publishing, distributing or relying on them.

Prohibited use

You must not use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful purposes.

• Do not knowingly create or distribute QR codes or barcodes intended to facilitate phishing, malware, scams, unauthorised access, harassment, illegal activity or infringement of another person’s rights.
• Do not attempt to interfere with, damage, disable or circumvent the normal operation or security of the app, including scraping or abusing optional account, sync or support features.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.

User-generated QR and barcode content

Media Ventum does not control or approve the information users choose to encode. Codes may contain website addresses, contact information, messages, Wi-Fi credentials, social links, location information, product values or other content. You must have the right to use and distribute any information, logo, image, brand or trademark you include.

If you sign in, saved codes and their encoded content may synchronize to Supabase. Do not encode information you are not willing to store with your account.

Sensitive information

QR codes and barcodes can be viewed, copied, photographed and shared. Avoid placing passwords, financial information, private credentials or other highly sensitive data in a code unless you understand and accept the risks. Media Ventum is not responsible for information you voluntarily encode and later share or synchronize.

Scanning limitations

The app may use your camera or a selected gallery image to detect and decode codes. It cannot guarantee that every code will be detected, decoded or interpreted correctly. Lighting, damaged codes, camera quality, design, contrast, device capabilities and third-party scanning technology may affect results. Verify important scanned information before acting on it.

Third-party destinations and technology

A scanned code may send you to a third-party website, application, file, payment page, Wi-Fi network or other external service. We do not control, endorse or guarantee that destination. You decide whether to open or interact with it, including joining a Wi-Fi network or using credentials encoded in a code, at your own risk.

Scanning may use Google ML Kit or Google Play Services on supported Android devices. Optional accounts, cloud synchronization and support tickets use Supabase. Those providers have their own terms, privacy policies and availability limits.

Saving, sharing and cloud synchronization

When you share content with another application or service, that third party may process it under its own terms. If you are signed in, saved codes may synchronize to Supabase, including records created while offline that later upload when a connection is available. Deleted synchronized records may be retained as marked-deleted cloud records so deletion can stay consistent.

Signing out leaves local codes and scan history on the device and does not by itself delete your cloud records or account.

Intellectual property

QR Barcode Scanner & Maker, including its software, interface, branding, graphics, design and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Media Ventum unless otherwise stated. These Terms do not grant you the right to use Media Ventum or QR Barcode Scanner & Maker branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement or ownership without permission. You retain responsibility for content and images that you lawfully provide to the app.

App availability and updates

We may update, improve, change, suspend or discontinue features from time to time, including to maintain compatibility, security, performance or store/OS compliance. We do not guarantee that the app or every feature will always be available on every device, operating system, country or platform. Optional account and sync features also depend on network availability and third-party services.

Highly customized colours, gradients, patterns, logos, printing quality, resizing, low contrast or physical damage may affect readability. Test important codes before large-scale printing or commercial use.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. We aim to provide reliable functionality, but we do not guarantee that the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or suitable for every particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Media Ventum will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from misuse of the app, third-party QR or barcode content, external websites, failed scans, optional account or synchronization features, or information voluntarily shared or synchronized by users. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is prohibited by law. Users remain responsible for verifying important codes, barcodes, links and information before relying on them.

Termination and account deletion

We may restrict or discontinue access to the app or specific features, including optional account or synchronization features, where reasonably necessary for security, legal, technical or operational reasons.

You may stop using the app at any time, sign out, and uninstall it. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your cloud account.

Signed-in users can delete the optional account from the Account screen after confirming their password. That deletes the cloud account, profile, synced codes and support tickets immediately. Local device data remains on the device as local-only copies.

If you have uninstalled the app, email info@mediaventum.com from the registered address, or see the Account Deletion page. We aim to complete email requests within 30 days unless a longer legal hold is required.

Privacy

Your use of the app is also subject to the QR Barcode Scanner & Maker Privacy Policy, which explains camera access, gallery images, local scan history, clipboard use, sharing, optional accounts, cloud synchronization and relevant third-party technologies.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app, applicable laws, platform requirements or our services change. The Last Updated date on this page will be revised. Continued use after updated Terms take effect may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by applicable law.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms removes legal rights that applicable consumer law does not allow you to waive.
